Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy ("Privacy Policy" or "Policy") sets out the scope, manner and purpose of processing your personal data by IQ Edu Pte Ltd, a limited liability company duly established under the laws of Singapore, having its address at 3 Philip Street #14-05, Royal Group Building, Singapore 048693 (“we”, “our”, “us” or “Company”) through any applications, websites, feature, technologies, content, and digital products ("Platform") owned and/or operated by us. This policy has been drafted in compliance with the provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder including the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

This Policy must be read in conjunction with the Terms and Conditions of this Policy. Any aspects which have not been addressed directly in this Policy shall be considered to have been dealt with under the Terms and Conditions, and such Terms and Conditions shall apply in relation to the same. Any capitalized terms which have not been defined under this Policy shall have the same meaning as they have been defined in the Terms and Conditions. This Policy highlights the following facets associated with the processing of your Personal Data, including but not limited to:

  • The personal data we collect and process about you;
  • Purposes for which we may process your personal data;
  • Categories of third parties with whom we may share your personal data;
  • Security measures deployed by us to secure your personal data;
  • Your rights with respect to your personal data; and
  • Details relating to grievance redressal for any concerns you may have.

Personal data we collect and process about you

We collect personal data, including but not limited to name and e-mail address when the User opens an Account on the Platform, or any further information about you that you may share or that we may otherwise process for providing you services over the Platform. Without limitation to the foregoing, we may collect and process:

  • Name of the user or child
  • Email address of the user
  • Student grade or class
  • Survey feedback provided by you;
  • IP addresses, device identifiers and metadata;
  • Photos or pictures of math or science questions uploaded by the users which are needed to provide or improve the service or for other purposes.

Purposes for which we may process your personal data

We may collect personal data from you as specified above. The personal data collected from you is used for the purposes, including but not limited to:

  1. Creation of accounts including, without limitation, user identity verification, age verification, parent / guardian identity verification, collection of contact information, capturing academic details of students, collection of referral or campaign data and collection of accessibility or learning accommodation information, as may be the case;
  2. Enabling access to your user account and for delivery of services, including, without limitation, enabling access, scheduling sessions, facilitating interaction with the Platform, delivering content, assigning and tracking deliverables, maintaining records, generating academic progress and other reports, downloading and streaming of content, use for resolving queries and resolving User queries on the Platform;
  3. For user account management including user profile creation, preferences, learning history, enabling password management, managing subscription plans, providing dashboards, managing language and accessibility settings, customer-self service on the Platform and for continuity in provision of services;
  4. For processing of payments, billing, management of refunds, or verification of eligibility of users for paid services provided by them;
  5. To improve our Platform, product or service offerings, assessing patterns to recommend content, quality enhancement and for technical functioning and security of the Platform; and
  6. For compliance with legal, statutory and other obligations, responding to requests and to maintain records required by law.

Categories of third parties with whom we may share your personal data

We may also share some Personal Data of the User to certain third parties such as email address, IP address, or information about the browser, device identification number, or operating system you used or analytical data arising therefrom with the third party such as advertisers, advertising agencies, and/or advertising intermediaries to provide relevant information needed to select and offer suitable advertisements to you and other users which could be a third party product advertisement on an as-is basis, including information contained in cookies or other online identifiers (if it contains Personal Data). We may share the use of your personal data by third parties to enable you to effectively utilize our Platform and services. 

In case of any third-party advertisement, we do not solicit usage, approve quality or recommend the use of any third-party product or services advertised. Accordingly, no claim should be made against the Company for your decisions. 

Security measures deployed by us to secure your personal data

We ensure that the personal data collected from you is kept secure to the extent that the confidentiality, integrity and availability of such personal data is maintained throughout the processing lifecycle. In order to protect your personal data, we have deployed industry-standard organisational and technical measures. Additionally, the Company shall at the earliest report all or any forms of cyber incidents, including but not limited to data breaches to the appropriate authorities and shall take all remedial and mitigation steps to protect your personal data.

Your rights with respect to your personal data

In accordance with the applicable laws, we provide you with the following rights in regard to the processing of your personal data:

  • Right to access information about the processing of your data;
  • Right to correction and erasure of personal data; and
  • Right of grievance redressal.
